Bodysuits are great garments. They help to keep diapers in place and protect sensitive baby skin from the cold. Usually shirts rise making tummy and back unprotected when children move around or crawl, even just by being lifted up. Bodysuits are unfortunately often too long or too short, since our children are growing so fast. But there is a better solution!

The ManyMonths body/shirt combos are easy to put on. The rib fabric is very stretchy and the fabric on the shoulders is overlapping. The removable crotch part can be adjusted according to the length of the child and size of the diaper (great also for accommodating different day and night diapers). Sewn-on flat nylon snaps that won't rip the fabric - and no nickel!

The bindings around the neck and sleeves are 95% organic cotton/5% elastane rib. All the other parts 100% merino wool rib, also the crotch bindings for the best functionality with cloth diapers. 100% merino wool is the greatest material for a bodysuit. The naturally curly merino wool fibres trap air and baby will feel wonderfully warm or cool during the warmer months. Wool is fully breathable and it can absorb about a third of its own weight in fluid before feeling wet or even damp. If the outerwear leaks through in puddle play or snow, not to worry, baby will stay wonderfully warm and healthy, the body temperature at its optimum comfort level. Woollen underwear help to adjust body temperature keeping it optimal by matching temperature and moisture on the skin.

Material and Care

100% natural merino wool rib, non-mulesing production, fabric made especially for MaM Design. The bindings around the neck and sleeves are 95% organic cotton/5% elastane rib.

Machine washable.

GOOD-TO-KNOW: Merino wool offers excellent UV protection as the merino fibres are efficient absorbers of potentially harmful UV-A and UV-B radiation. Research has shown that wool absorbs radiation throughout the entire UV spectrum, whereas untreated cotton, nylon, acrylic and silk are poor absorbers of UV radiation. A study done with thin summer fabrics (<160 g/m2) showed that all merino wool samples had an UPF factor of at least 40. (Hilfiker et al 1996, Reinert et al 1997, Haerri 2000 and Gamblicher et al 2001)

ALSO FOR WARMER DAYS: Merino fibres has the ability to gain and release heat depending on the external and internal environment - thus buffering children against environmental/weather changes both when actively playing/running around and when sleeping. During warmer days when the temperature around is higher than the skin temperature our bodies will gain heat and loose it through evaporative cooling. Merino wool fibres can absorb large quantities of moisture vapour and then transfer it into the air, keeping children very comfy.
